Faceless
remembering trinity
Today I’ve been mostly looking back fondly on the long summer days spent at trinity walk, for those not privy to the back story here it is in briefs! These long (some even hot) summer days began in May when Wakefield’s shiny new shopping centre was launched, we at faceless were asked to help with the launch by providing street theatre for the first five weeks, this then progressed to three more weekends of events called summer in the city which ran through August. Whilst being lots of fun they also provided yours truly with the opportunity to gain experience managing a real life public event.
For faceless the event meant bringing out classic acts such as short ships and little café as well as the latest show snailylimpics.
Early on in my tenancy here at faceless I helped promote the snails so was keen to see them in action and capture footage of some of the performance for future promotion.
…which I did! So today I’ve happily trawled through the clips putting all the best bits of-mostly- torso less action into one super video, which will hopefully be appearing on here soon!
Learning the workings of movie maker has been great and I can see this being useful in all sorts of future situations… for example editing footage taken at my forthcoming wedding to erase all evidence that a first dance (which I’m dreading) ever existed and the best man’s speech come to think of it.
But the key thing I’ve learned today though is that saving work as you go along is generally a good idea. So take this little nugget of advice lovely readers and implement it into you working routine!
You’ll thank me if ever your computer crashes.
