Bev Adams, Artistic Director & CEO

BA Hons Theatre Arts, Bretton Hall


Educated in South Africa and at Bretton Hall in Yorkshire, Gitis Academy Moscow and Middlesex University, London, Bev specialises in ensemble performance, usually in the outdoors, using Mask, Puppetry and the techniques of Vsevelod Meyerhold.  Since founding Faceless in 1990, Bev continues to perform, adapt and direct a range of outdoor performance and community productions for the company. Bev is has over 20 years experience of running an arts organisation as a social enterprise and setting up an running an arts charity.  Bev is a  committee member NASA (National Association of Street Artists UK); a board member of ISAN (Independant Street Arts Network) and a Fellow of RSA (the Royal Society of Arts).

 

 

 

Tony Wade, Creative Director

BA Hons Fine Art, Bretton Hall

In 1996, after spending 10 years building fire sculptures, touring as a street performer and musician and running a free outdoor music festival, Tony joined Faceless. As Creative Director for Faceless, Tony provides technical support for all projects, designs community parades and projects, delivers fantastic workshops and creates Faceless’ wonderful walkabout characters, sets & props.

 

 

 

 

 

Charlie Wells, Community Engagement Manager

BA Hons Performing Arts (Music) Middlesex University

A musician by trade, specialising in early years and voice, Charlie has been coordinating the company’s community engagement programme since 2006. Previously, Charlie has worked at the NT Studio, Gymboree, IMPRO, Yorkshire Dance, as a freelance musician, and with Full Body & the Voice.

 

 

Jackie Woodhead, Freelance Management Accountant

Jackie manages Faceless’ finances and payroll. She came to us in 2004 as a volunteer and after continuing her training as an accountant, she has now set up her own business and works freelance for us, one day a week.

Faceless would like to acknowledge the work of Rik Stack (Associate Director and founder member 1990 to 2004) as a key contributor to many of the company’s street performance, community arts and event management projects.
